We have some fisher engagement talks on our #6samls programme, including celebrating 40 incredible years of the SAAMBR ORI Cooperative Fish Tagging Project, a #citizenscience project that is among the top ranked volunteer programmes around the🌍, with >386 000 tag releases!

27 days🐟 FOUR WEEKS until #6samls! We have three brilliant keynote speakers for the #linefish Symposium. The first is Prof Colin Attwood from UCT, a #marine linefish researcher and legend! He's also attended every single linefish symposium since its inception in 1989.

Having studied various aspects of multiple #SouthernAfrica marine #linefish species over the past (almost) 40 years, he has contributed significantly to what we currently know about these species. Colin will cover some monitoring work from the De Hoop #MPA over the past 40 years!

25 days to #6samls 🐟 Understanding the importance of estuaries to #marine #linefish species is important, especially since many of these are dependent on estuaries at some stage during their lives. To account for this, we have a session dedicated to monitoring estuaries.
