We demand this “problem” for our street! Stay tuned for a community meeting later this month with city officials for the chance to do so.

In response to our advocacy, the city is hosting two community meetings. We expect them to discuss parking protected bike lanes on 48th & 47th Streets. 48th would remain a 2-way Street; 47th would become 1-way (northbound) from Grays Ferry to Chestnut. gardencourtca.org/single-post/48…

Come out and tell city officials you support “option 2”! Narrower crosswalks on 48th+47th, protected bike lane on 48th (2-way car travel), protected bike lane on 47th, conversion of 47th to a 1-way street (NB), and preservation of parking on both sides of both streets.

Somerville is, in many ways, the West Philly of Boston (in this analogy, UCity = Cambridge). If they can do it, so can we! Councilmember Jamie Gauthier please support oTIS’ Option 2 for 48th/47th.

The results are in: road diets reduce speeding by 25% and separated bike lanes reduce crashes by 18%. Office of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems Option 2 for 48th/47th includes both! Councilmember Jamie Gauthier let’s make it happen with safer streets!
