U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and members of the Reconnaissance Batallion, Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade, Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force, conduct a bilateral exchange during Iron Fist 23.

The USS Nimitz (CVN 68) carrier strike group, USS Makin Island amphibious ready group, and 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted combined expeditionary strike force (ESF) operations in the Indo-Pacific Region with allies and partners.
