Last night saw us join up with our neighbours at 2422 (Arbroath) to practice some drill for the upcoming Wing Field Day. As we have a lot of new cadets it was an ideal opportunity for them to learn from more experienced cadets. The weather stayed nice for us too.

Yesterday we were at Leuchars Station at the RAF 100 Scottish Air Muster where 12 of our cadets and 2 staff joined with cadets and staff from Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England and were given the opportunity to fly in a Chinook HC.MK 6 aircraft.

On Saturday, our cadets helped the British Legion sell poppies and yesterday we took part in the Annual Remembrance Day Parade. Sgt Doig was banner bearer and Cpl's Berwick and Bowen laid the wreath. #LestWeForget

Leah Berwick in S6 is spending a couple of days at Dundee Airport on a work experience placement. Thank you to the staff for showing her the varied aspects of careers at the airport and, in particular, to Louisa Saunders, a former pupil of CHS, for looking after Leah so well.

We rolled out Cadet Portal to our cadets this evening. This new technology will hopefully increase participation in events and I'm sure it will reduce the admin burden on our staff. It was well received by both cadets and staff. @OC_NEScotWg Commandant RAF Air Cadets

It's a shooting orientated weekend for our staff. SI McGillivray is undergoing L98-A2 rifle training with the Small Arms Training Team at Leuchars, while FS Ogilvie is at RAF Lossiemouth assisting other Wing staff with 35 cadets firing the same rifle. @OC_NEScotWg @arc_sni

Fresh back from his First Aid course at the weekend, Sgt Parker was instructing the cadets on basic life saving tonight.

Congratulations to Cpl Melville and Cdt Berwick who received their Leading Cadet badges for completion of their classification training to that level. Now they will move onto the Senior cadet syllabus. Further congratulations to Cdt Berwick who was promoted to the rank of Cpl.
