Finally treated myself to LONG overdue brand new Weller soldering station, model WE1010NA.

So, I'm getting really good with my antenna launcher. Without it, there's no way I could erect my OCF again, threading the elements through trees the way I have been. Really like this thing.

It only took me THREE DAYS, but my OCF Windham antenna is finally back up & connected. Feedpoint is at least 15' higher above ground than before. Might actually get back on the air sometime this week! Barefoot for now.

Good news, the antenna is up. Bad news, my TS-440S has the dreaded dots. No PLL VCO lock. I know how to fix it. Clean the guaranteed to fail goop they used to "seal out moisture." It was on borrowed time. Still a PITA. And I was SO looking forward to tuning around a bit today. 😠

And the patient has made a MIRACULOUS RECOVERY!!!

Merry Christmas everyone! Bought new toy. NanoVNA-H4. Updated the firmware. Built a cable adapter kit. Maybe not the specs of a Anritsu S331b but does everything I need. Even tracking gen for tuning cavities! Time to check my Windham. Fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞

After comparing many designs, chose the 80m OCF Palomar formula, 29.5%/70.5%. Final length aftet much trimming, 126.06', 29.1%/70.9%. 80/40/20/15(cw)/12m, all <1.8-1 swr. 15m voice with tuner. Doesn't get much better.

Serious question. I will be retiring in early 2025. Plan to stream live again and produce new videos for Rumble. Streaming to X requires a paid premium account. Would you watch if I do?
