If you find a ye (I.e. thorn + e), tag with <expan> and </expan>. Or you cam write th instead of y and highlight it and click expan button. Common question :-) #emroctranscribes

Thanks to Liza Blake for the helpful transcribing sheets she has put together, and which are critical for #emroctranscribes. Guidance here: emroc.hypotheses.org/transcribathon… .

Any ideas what the last word on the first line might be? Looks maybe like scalability, but OED offers no obvious matches. It involves taking juice of broom and whatever it is, and adding it to whey and honey. #emroctranscribes #earlymodern #histmed

Having fun with the annual trascribathon. Lucked out in Wellcome Collection 4054 with classics like the Countess of Kent's pills and a water for the Stone. RCP museum MS 504 isn't quite as hard to read as it first looks (phew) and I'm in the middle of lots of horse remedies.

It was such fun to transcribe with my undergrad students from UCL History & wonderful to introduce them to 17c book objects. Thank you to Wellcome Collection and RCP museum for hosting us and EMROC for organizing! #bookhistory #histsci #histmed

Still transcribing left for enthusiasts, esp w/ the juicy RCP museum MS 504. The hand initially looks intimidating, but you get used to it quickly. Lots on beauty incl #animalhist. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u…

Another tidbit from RCP museum MS 504 is the surprise knowledge of gout as an STD-- or perhaps more likely a major humoral constitution shift with life circumstances... Apparently "One never had the Gout, untill he hath known woman carnally. Hippocrates." #earlymodern #histmed
