Guy designing the airport: and here we’ll have hundreds of self checkin kiosks, no more waiting!

Agent: great so they check themselves in?

Guy: they tell the robot that they are *going to check in…

Agent: ok they drop their bags there?

Guy: kiosks. All the way to the horizon

I think most men vastly underestimate how much shit they get away with simply because society teaches women that being alone means they’re worthless.

I love my mom. I love my friends who are mothers. I love the joy it brings them, the love in their hearts. I love my mom for everything she did for me, but, as I get older, Mother’s Day increasingly feels like a romanticization of the sacrifices mothers shouldn’t have to make.

“You are responsible for being safe” they say - “except when it comes to me. Don’t tell me to stop. Don’t try to protect yourself. Don’t you want me to want you? Act like you like it.”

Misogyny doesn’t require that you hate every woman, just the ones who threaten your order of priority. You neither love nor hate women until we affect you. You love or hate our role performance, and, like any other utility, our usefulness determines your assessment of our value.

Never forget, no matter how hard you try to meet the standard of the male gaze, or how completely you might diminish, reinvent, or even erase your true self in order to be valuable to men, you are always just a few wrong comments away from being humiliated as entertainment.

“I am not a violent guy, but there’s simply nothing to be done about the millions of men who are except to restrict your freedom in order to save you from them. That this solution reinforces my privilege and diminishes your power is merely a coincidence.”
