On Woman’s Hour just now - women and girls not even pulled out of the earthquake rubble in Afghanistan because men won’t touch them and male doctors won’t treat them. ‘Barbaric’ doesn’t even come close.

Time and time again we see safeguarding failures because people thought the guy was "nice" Take my story as a cautionary tale and start asking why and who, as a matter of practice.

6,500 women were raped or sexually assaulted in hospitals in 4 years. Having just heard about the elderly woman who was “raped to death” in a hospital in the UK, I decided to do some research on the prevalence of these crimes. The stats are shocking. And only 4.1% charged.

Sarah Phillimore They could also practically fund specialist DV and homeless shelters for trans identified people. I’m hearing hard pressed charities saying we have no money for dedicated services if we exclude those few trans women (who feel unable to use male services) from women’s services.

‘sexually abused to death’ in hospital. And we’re told women don’t need single-sex spaces? Every ward, refuge & changing room must be protected. Women aren’t safe otherwise.

WDI Afghanistan has been suspended. Hateful people who want women to be silenced and oppressed report this resource for sharing Afghan women’s voices. Elon Musk Please don’t let these women be silenced.

You don't need to agree with a single thing Charlie Kirk said to be deeply disturbed by the attempt on his life. It's irrelevant. If you can't manage to condemn it wholeheartedly, you might possibly be a psychopath.

Whether you agreed with him or not, Charlie Kirk is dead purely because some people didn't like what he had to say. That should outrage every single one of us.

Can we just agree that it's a bad thing to murder people because you disagree with them? As a starting point for the discussion. And that maintaining a discussion with people who disagree with you can be a good thing. Or is that a step too far?

Wendy Murphy Malcolm Clark LGB International Do you hear yourself? I’ve read through this thread, and you claim LGB activists “used” women to gain power and then abandoned them. But let’s be honest about a few things, while men were involved in early theory, it’s been women—especially in academic and feminist spaces like

We need to have a broader societal conversation about medical ethics. Should the Hippocratic oath/first do no harm be set aside to allow patients the right to regret and the dignity of risk?

Excellent thread by Stella O'Malley highlighting just how little interest or effort politicians of all colours tbf showed in understanding knock on impacts of what, on the face of it, looked like a cheap, easy vote winner only affecting a minority. Many still haven’t noticed.

Whole thread is excellent, but this is the pertinent point. Hunt, Cashman et al are on a hiding to nothing pushing for the EHRC guidance to be watered down. They should be lobbying for legislative change if that’s what they want. Hopefully the Gov realise this and stand firm.

Somehow when all else fails it always comes down to homophobia or racism. Black women are not a different kind of women Lesbians are not a different kind of women Trans women are trans women And by definition male.
