Stumbled across another great 'Speak Up' podcast episode from Speech Pathology Australia. This episode looks at the role Speech Pathologists can have in working with people with a progressive neurological disorder. soundcloud.com/speechpatholog…

Yesterday was my first time introducing a #aidedlanguagestimulation (als) board. These can be great when trying to build #communicationskills, so it was a great experience!!! Thank you to BronwynHemsley for introducing us to AAC.

Came across an interesting systematic review about treatment outcomes for #CAS. I didn't know that #phonological treatment focusing on learning linguistic rules can be generalised across a range of contexts in children with CAS! Thanks for sparking the interest Emma.Thomas!

Check out some of the flowers on show in Toowoomba’s #CarnivalofFlowers!! They even arranged the flowers into an image…Can anyone guess what it could be? Also…highlight of the day was definitely meeting Julie Goodwin Should’ve asked for some #cooking tips... #goSHrural

Today is the International Day of Older Persons and marks the beginning of Speech Pathology Australia's 'Ageing Well campaign', which will run through October. Flick through the images below to understand how #SLPs support older people's communication! #SPAageingwell #slp2b #GoSHspeech

October is International Augmentative and Alternative Communication Awareness Month. Thank you BronwynHemsley for teaching me the different ways in which people #communicate using #AAC. Here is a great podcast where we hear the experiences of an AAC user: open.spotify.com/episode/7kDWD2…

The quote from Dementia Australia shows the type of discrimination people living with dementia face. It makes me wonder, a little education & support can really go a long way and make a difference in their lives. We really need to advocate & raise more awareness 🗣 #Dementia

On my hospital placement I’m working with dysphagic patients across a huge variety of inpatient wards including acute spinal patients! Super fascinating review from The Informed SLP on spinal patients and the potentially *hidden* signs of dysphagia. theinformedslp.com/review/dysphag…
