Four years ago today I had a right total hip replacement for a congenital hip problem & arthritis, aged 50. Awful commute from E Sussex today. 2.5 hours this morning to Woolwich due to biblical rain & flooded roads. Tonight narrowly avoided a nasty head on collision by ditching into the verge, avoiding a driver on my side of the road. Rather shook up, but car & I are still in one piece

Race across the world …… who would I take as my partner? I would say my Dad because he’s ‘better than good’ at everything but my Mum, who is my fiercest critic has an unrivalled determination & is a ‘completer finisher’. I’d still take my Dad to save my sanity & ensure it’s fun

I’m going to take a bit of a break from X for the festive period. It feels like the right time to have a bit of a reset, chill out & avoid the ‘almost constant’ negativity about working in the NHS. Wishing you all a lovely Christmas & I’ll be back in 2024!

A very scary commute home Woolwich to Eastbourne 63 miles which took 3 hours. Blocked drains, flooding ++, drivers acting like the roads are an F1 track!. I’ve never felt more grateful to land on my drive, having previously had a nasty car accident in 2012 in similar conditions
