Wait staff with SaveMITips are in the MI Capitol calling on lawmakers to block the gradual elimination of the state's tipped wages system. Michele Kind (middle of the photo) is a waitress of 20 years. She says she's missing out on probably $250 in tips by being here today.

Elected officials have the ability right now to save Michigan's tip credit and save 60,000 jobs along with it. They're currently choosing inaction.

After they closed the doors on SaveMITips supporters yesterday, our intern was told by a sergeant that it would be closed for the rest of session.

Hey Michigan Democrats👋 Since you closed the doors on the People this week asking you to let them keep their wages, we figured we would go talk to them for you. Enjoy.

Mr. Speaker, tipped workers filled the Capitol Tuesday to tell you they currently earn more with tips than they would with a $15 minimum wage. If you “respect the will of the people,” then the answer is in this video. We are ready to act with you to #SaveMITips

Social content idea: running through the Capitol at the end of Lame Duck singing along with the audio to the bridge of that Gracie Abrams song.

IT'S HAPPENING! Tipped working people finally get their day on the state legislature. No one else can claim to speak for the workers when the workers are here speaking for themselves. Time's up. We need action now. ⏰ #SaveMITips

Hey Michigan AFL-CIO ✊ if you are going to try to degrade Michigan's restaurant servers, you should at least use accurate information. Here is actual Toast data on tipping. Four of the five worst are all non tip credit states. MI @ a robust 19.9% is just outside Top 5. #SaveMITips

Under revised bill that is expected to win bipartisan support, the tipped wage would reach 50% by 2031 and the regular minimum would hit $15 by 2027, a year earlier than scheduled. #mileg
