In collaboration with Silvia Daun and Mahan Hosseini we developed a new python-based toolbox (AutoGaitA) for the automated analysis of locomotion. We applied cross-species and cross-tasks to start telling a tale of mice, of men and of flies. @CRC1451 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

See our latest preprint! Sometimes it's what DOESN'T happen that matters most. Meaning - in the Mysterious Case of the Axons That Won't Regenerate, there is a dog that didn't bark. Great collab with Ishwariya Venkatesh Gemistos Plethon doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…

WebAtlas for visualising single cell & spatial data online is out: rdcu.be/dRsKu With Muzlifah Haniffa Tong LI 李彤 Dave Horsfall+co, we aimed to open up sc/spatial data to biologists & clinicians without coding experience/infrastructure. Rambling🧵on why this matters

👀Ft. Supp 3 for some high res dendritic spines in spinal cord dorsal horn! 👀 In vivo imaging adult spinal cord at depth remains tricky with all that myelin in the way, but 3P helps resolve fine structures.

Please RT: Job alter! We're looking for a postdoc working at the interface of developmental neurobiology & mechanobiology. If you want to figure out how local tissue mechanics interacts with chemical signals to regulate brain folding, apply! Phantastic talk by previous PhD student at @charite now postdoc @Bradke lab @DZNE JULIANE SCHIWECK. Injured brain cells modelled in 3D at great spatial temporal resolution. #astrocyte #glia Last talk of #EMBO workshop on „Axonal Degeneration and Regeneration“ in Okinawa, Japan

How does tumour heterogeneity arise? How can we predict cancer cell plasticity? In 2 studies, we trace #glioblastoma heterogeneity to a spatial cancer cell trajectory w. atlassing bit.ly/4mkrWgs & predict plasticity w. snRNA/ATAC+deep learning bit.ly/3FbI6Ic 🧵

Our paper is now out in final form at Nature Genetics! For those who missed the preprint, we used large-scale Perturb-seq targeting transcription factors to push primary fibroblasts into diverse transcriptional states, including those observed in cell atlas studies.
