I hear that X is the end of #AcademicTwitter & folks are migrating to platforms like Instagram. All I see there is pics of food & coffee. My Twitter is all #plants -pics, botanists, scientific articles. I came here for networking, but I’m staying for the plants 😆🌱#iamabotanist

I’m so grateful for these amazing TAs for my #Plant #Ecology course this term! Preparing for our #saltmarsh field trip this week and reviewing plant ids as the tide slowly came in. I hope the students love this #coastal #wetland as much as we do! #NovaScotia #Atlantic SMUScience

Wonderful field trip to the Grand Desert #tidal #salt #marsh with my #Plant #Ecology class! Students measured plant #biodiversity & learned about salt adaptations like succulence. Perfect weather, just enough wind to keep the bugs at bay 😁 #NovaScotia #AtlanticOcean SMUScience

The act of preserving herbarium specimens not only serves scientific endeavors, but can also be used as an artistic outlet. This Bangia fuscopurpurea specimen was arranged into the shape of a horse in 1925 & has remained this way since! 🐴 #NYBGscience 🐎 brnw.ch/hrs

We (Dr Ellie M Goud, @nbasiliko, Pete Whittington, and Living with Lakes) are so excited to unravel the interconnected impacts of metal and sulphur pollution on carbon cycling in degraded peatlands, while exploring novel restoration methods to return Sphagnum moss.

From Brian McGill, a useful summary and interesting thoughts about the state of academic publishing. Spoiler: we scientists are (partly) to blame. dynamicecology.wordpress.com/2024/04/29/the…
