#OnThisDay in 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, was liberated. Approximately 1.1 million men, women and children were murdered there, and over 90% of them were Jewish. Today we commemorate #HolocaustMemorialDay on this anniversary.

Last night, we held the Scottish #HolocaustMemorialDay Ceremony in the Scottish Parliament. Holocaust survivor Peter Lantos BEM shared his testimony, and we heard from members of the Bosnian and Rwandan communities in Scotland. We’re grateful to First Minister for his support.

Proud to hand in my dissertation today called: Embodying the Holocaust: How did Jewish women's bodies impact their identity and experiences of the Holocaust? For Olga, Guiliana, Gisela, Sara, Charlotte, Livia, and all the other women, I promise to always tell your stories.

My heart is broken today. Meeting Henry Wuga was the honour of a lifetime. I will miss him, his smile, and of course his bowties for the rest of my life. His story lives on in everyone who was ever lucky enough to hear it - it will never be forgotten.

Our beloved Henry Wuga MBE - we have lost a giant. The world has lost one of its greatest educators, and I’ve lost a friend. Henry, every second with you was a privilege. Words cannot describe how much I’ll miss you.

In light of today’s news, I’m reflecting on the times I was fortunate to have met and listened to Humza including the Service of Solidarity that the First Minister attended in October. I’m grateful to have taken a photo that exemplifies his grace, humanity, and compassion.

I’ve been in Poland for the past few days for March of the Living UK which marks Yom HaShoah. Today in Auschwitz I found my #yellowcandle, Masza Szenwald, in the Book of Names. I’m thinking of Masza who died aged 5 during the Holocaust, her family, and all the others.

On the final day of March of the Living UK, we marched from Auschwitz I to Birkenau. Over 6,000 people walked side by side with Holocaust survivors, and what an honour it was! The lessons I have learnt from this trip will stay with me forever. A truly incredible experience. H.E.T.

Congratulations to Lord (Eric) Pickles and the UK Presidency of IHRA for an incredible week in Glasgow at the summer Plenary, where delegates showed unity and purpose in the face of rising antisemitism and distortion.

It’s always exciting when your passions collide - it was a pleasure to photograph IHRA Plenary in Glasgow this week. It was inspiring to hear about all the work being done in the UK and across the world to keep the Holocaust #InPlainSight.
