It is, as they say, a series of small walls

Now for a weekend back in the real world to catch up on all the work I should have been doing while I was digging instead 😬

I've seen so many hares this year, lots around Wiltshire as well as on the dig I've been at for the past couple of weeks. Either I'm super lucky or they're doing well!

At the races for Father's Day and one of my favourite bits is always the listed C18 rubbing house 🤓 Not many survive! I had a whole section of my thesis on them, in case anyone wants to let me do a postdoc on the archaeology of early modern sport 👀🏇😁

For #FindsFriday, my favourite finds from the Roman dig that finished last week. Two pieces of worked bone: one probably from a comb, another thought to be from a chest 🪮 Missing the field already but that's it for a while!

Playing the long game - she should be eligible to vote in the election after next. Her sister, who might be eligible in the next one, is having a mock election in school today, which should be interesting..

And they did! Nice to be spending the day in Bristol to soak up some vibes before heading home to our sadly-still-Tory area.
