Most of central AL will be free from rain through the next several hours. We're currently watching an area of t-storms pushing northward across southern MS & far southwest AL that could bring some storms here later tonight. Until then, partly to mostly cloudy skies will prevail.

Moderate to heavy rain with embedded storms continue across E & SE counties of Central AL. The chance for severe storms continues to be very small over the next couple of hours.

Looking forward to Friday, a cold front will FINALLY bring this waterlogged pattern to an end. It will also bring a small chance for a few severe storms across the SE half of Central AL during the afternoon. Thankfully, the front should move out by 6pm ending rain chances.

Dense fog advisory is in effect through 8 AM CDT for the east/southeast portions of Central Alabama. Visibilities may go to 1/4 mile & below at times. Slow down & increase distance. Turn on low-beam headlights. #alwx
