Jackson Browne 🎩🪄 Running On Empty (1977) Released as the lead single from his road-life album Running On Empty, which came out on this date today, December 6th, 1977. A timeless highway anthem that defined Browne’s touring years and still hits the gas every time.

Perry Rhodan #6: The Secret of the Time Vault (Ace Books 1972) cover by Gray Morrow. Good cover by Morrow, it has a pulpish feel to it which kind of fits the series. The book also includes essays by editor Forrest J. Ackerman.

The Return of Nathan Brazil by Jack L. Chalker (Del Rey Books 1980) cover by Darrell K. Sweet. Fourth in Chalker's original Well World series. Another good cover by Sweet as always. I always thought it odd this volume didn't include "Well of Souls" in the title like the others.

Chaos in Arcturus by Karl Zeigfried (John Spencer & Co. 1953) cover by Ron Embleton. This definitely has a pulp-style cover to it. I'd like to see more of Embleton's work but he apparently only did a handful of SF genre artwork, most of it prior to 1960.

The Apprentice by Deborah Talmadge-Bickmore (Del Rey Books 1990) cover by Michael Herring. I picked up a used copy of this locally for $2 as I liked the cover; looks better than most genre artwork today.

The Water of Thought by Fred Saberhagen (Tor Books 1981) cover by Janet Aulisio. Saberhagen was known mostly for his Berserker series but he wrote a lot of other things, science fiction and fantasy like this. The fellow in the space suit looks to be in a bind.

Renegades of Time by Raymond F. Jones (Laser Books 1975) cover by Kelly Freas. #1 in the Laser Books line with a great Freas cover. His covers he did for Laser Books were all laid out essentially the same; a character's face up front with something going on in the background.
