Me, running a tech methods workshop: "it's really really important to be familiar with traditional sculpture materials and processes." Student: "do you use them in your work?" Me: "no, never." This exchange happens a lot.

Doing my accounting for the year my daughter was born: implicit in between the repeated studio rent and campus car park outgoings is the lack of making time being an artist and the teaching sessions away from my 2 month old baby. What a year. #matrescence

Please could someone commission me to make soft play versions of Hepworths/Moores/Brancusis etc. for a baby/toddler exhibition?

The only thing I don't enjoy about sneakily streaming TV series from my phone while the baby naps on me is the sudden reflection of my earnest little eyes staring back when the credits roll 😶

As a sculptor, I'm fascinated by the adhesive capacity of weetabix. As a parent, I'm angered by the adhesive capacity of weetabix.

It's pretty depressing that a trans poet won the Artur C Clarke award this year - Harry Josephine Giles with Deep Wheel Orcadia - and it’s NOWHERE to be seen in all the bookshops. Seems like this is a perfect opp for trans visibility in a male-centric genre and we've blown it.
