Dear MPs, Thousands of #UnpaidCarers were forced (& in 9/10 cases there is no choice) to give up their careers in exchange for a stressful life with no wage & no breaks. If passed, the Bill is likely to cost more than it saves and MPs’ staff will be deluged with more casework.

The UK’s #UnpaidCarers aren’t entitled to maternity or paternity leave. Often there’s no one to step up - certainly no one who wants to work a full time job for no wage and no breaks - so people end up caring for newborns + their own parent (or other relative or friend).
