Just purchased our tickets for Darren McGarvey live show where he will discuss his new book Trauma Industrial Complex and explore the commodification of pain and lived experience. I think all policy makers should think about attending 🙌

📽️In our latest video, Dr David McCartney explores the science behind alcohol use disorder. He discusses the impact of trauma, genetics, and stress on compulsive drinking, and why treatment, mutual aid, and psychosocial support offer hope for recovery. youtube.com/watch?v=3s5WZ5…

Another key milestone for EastAyrshireLeisure as we look for a Strategic Lead: facilities. This is a first for us and is very exciting 🥳 Please share if you know of anyone who would be ideal (or don't if you think it's for you 😜)myjobscotland.gov.uk/councils/east-… facebook.com/share/v/15o6Q2…

Statehood is the inalienable right of the Palestinian people. It must not be dependant on the actions of the occupying force. We need a full arms embargo & meaningful sanctions imposed to pressure Israel to allow desperately needed aid to flow into Gaza. Video: Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge

I knew this show would be uncomfortable & it didn't disappoint. Darren McGarvey skilfully narrates a tension building, nervous system jangling dive into the commodification of trauma with no holds barred. Not a show wrapped up in a Ted-Talk ribbon but one that forces thought 👌

It is my absolute honour to be asked to join Shelter Scotland as a new Committee member at this critical time as we collectively tackle the housing emergency. Home is everything and ending homelessness must be a national priority 🏘

As part of the group brought together to explore the creation of homelessness prevention duties, I welcome the announcement by Màiri McAllan of more pilot funding. Prevention coupled with urgently building more socially rented homes is crucial in this housing emergency.
