Did you know that the vast majority of Islay whisky is tankered away, filled into casks and stored on the mainland? Only a couple of distilleries on Islay actually mature the majority of their spirit on the island. #IslayWhisky #FactOfTheDay

When we launched Elements of Islay in 2006, it was decided early on that no bottles in the range should carry an age or vintage, as we believe that the most important element when choosing a whisky is the flavour.

Bn9, our latest limited edition, is a marriage of four American oak hogsheads from the Bunnahabhain distillery, distilled in 2014 and aged for more than seven years. A dram full of decadent chocolate and pleasant fruit, rounded out by some brine and dense smoke.

Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask. Its smoothness is elemental –think coastal pebbles forged by the power of attrition. Matured in 1st & refill bourbon barrels, bottled at 54.5%. Barbecue smoke from a south coast Islay distillery combines with zesty flavours from the north coast.
