Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center & the Tri-I community let's continue celebrating MSKPDA this #NPAW2022! Join us Thursday, 9/22, 10am-5pm for our Annual #MSKPostdocs Research Symposium. The day will include 12 oral talks, a poster session (yes! posters are back!) & a keynote by @nogaleslab.

An👩🎨 as much as a👩🔬. For #NPAW2022 meet #MSKPostdoc Eleonore Toufektchan from the @Maciejowskilab. Eleonore Toufektchan is studying how the protein TREX1 helps cancer cells resist immune checkpoint blockade therapy & anti-tumor immunity.🇫🇷

And here are some of the embroideries and sculptures Eleonore Toufektchan have done! Thanks for sharing your artistic side with us! For more of her work, check Eleonore's instagram account: @eleonore_stitches

One of the best things about lab is working with great scientists like Eleonore Toufektchan!

Eleonore Toufektchan works on elucidating how TREX1 activity facilitates chromosomally unstable cancer cells to escape from anti-tumor immunity and immune checkpoint blockade therapies. @Maciejowskilab

Congratulations to Eleonore Toufektchan and all co-authors on our new study showing how TREX1 guards against anti tumor immunity by degrading cytosolic DNA to limit cGAS-STING! Great collaboration with the Samuel Bakhoum lab.

As part of the Immunity session at the 1st International Symposium of Institut Curie, Eleonore Toufektchan, postdoc at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center will discuss the role of intra-tumoral TREX1 induction in immune evasion. 📅 May 15 > 17, 2024 📍 Maison de la Chimie, Paris ➡️ curiesymposium.fr/registration/

A lot of fun to highlight great work from Giuseppe Leuzzi and Alberto Ciccia et al showing how the the DNA translocase SMARCAL1 dampens immune responses against tumor cells through two distinct mechanisms. Special thanks to our great collaborators John Maciejowski, Eleonore Toufektchan and Yanyang Chen from MSKCC, as well as Grégoire Cullot, Alessandra Albertelli and my postdoctoral advisor, Jacob Corn Jacob Corn for their amazing help in making this publication possible.

Check out this amazing work by Erman KARASU ! Thank you for this opportunity to work on yet another surprising role for TREX1: mediating gene editing efficiency. Congrats!
