Our department is constantly thinking of novel ways to engage with the surrounding community! Earlier this year Muhammad Awais & members of Liverpool Pancreatitis Research Group organised a "Biryani with Scientists & Medical Doctors" event. You read that right, Science and Curry😍

Meet Awais Muhammad Awais #FridayFaces Awais joined University of Liverpool in '07 following a research position in 東京大学. Cell imaging & developing technologies to visualize dynamic cellular processes is his passion. Discovering a therapy for pancreatitis patients is a goal of Awais!

Awais states "I hope that in the near future the research I am conducting with colleagues in the Liverpool Pancreatitis Research Group, in collaboration with Chemistry, is going to yield a game-changing novel drug to treat inflammatory diseases, including pancreatitis."

Awais is passionate about engaging local communities in research and as well as coaching cricket, “the gentleman’s game". 🏏
