"Cranes in the Sky" is EASILY one of the best-written songs about depression/heartbreak/loss ever. Despite all of her efforts to distract herself, the pain/loss was constant.
The way Scott navigated this conversation was beautiful. Noticing that she wanted this to be a joyous moment and conversation, even though you can hear her grief, so deciding to hold back his own sorrow, pause, and make the pour celebratory? Masterful!
