A6 There are so many fantastic advances in assistive tech which we see showcased in the accessibility community. Accessible AR and VR, sign language services such as Signly, apps like Be my eyes which allows volunteers to support people with visual access needs etc #AXSChat

A6 All of these advances in technology could be so easily transferred to learning content. Yet we still seem to be having the same conversations about the difficulties of making a drag and drop accessible and how AR and VR can’t be accessible. #AXSChat

A6 Many assistive technology and accessibility service providers aren’t aware of the eLearning sector. Yet this is an industry predicted to be worth $457.8 billion by 2026 and which has over 1 million members in a community for one of the leading authoring tool providers #AXSChat

A6 This is why its so crucial that the Learning Technology sector is no longer overlooked by the accessibility community. We are not only important in Higher Education but in all aspects of learning especially in workplace learning. #AXSChat

A6 We need to harness the technological advances and good accessibility practice in other industries to make eLearning ‘accessible as the default’ and unlock the learning potential of over 1.2 billion people worldwide. #AXSChat
