Delighted to contribute our long term macroinvertebrate data from the Burrishoole Catchment, Co. Mayo (teeny tiny litt🟢spot on the left) to this big analysis led by James Sinclair #CollectOnceUseOften Catherine Duigan 🇮🇪🇪🇺🏴 😉 Marine Institute #BurrishooleLTER
Interested in a #postdoc position on the effects of #warming and #pollutants on nutrient flows and lower trophic levels in #freshwater #microbial #communities using 16S/18S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and metagenomics? 🦠Please contact our collaborator [email protected]
Check out this cool paper in NatureClimate by Benoit Gauzens, Benjamin Rosenbaum, Gregor Kalinkat @[email protected], Malte Jochum & Susanne Kortsch, showing how fish shift from trait- to density-dependent foraging in warmer, more productive environments. Delighted to have been involved! nature.com/articles/s4155…
Please RT: multiple water-themed PhD studentships starting soon Uni of Roehampton and Cranfield University jobs.ac.uk/job/DGG043/fun… One led by me on #RiverRestoration starting in October. Apply before 31st May or contact me for further details.

Excited to see the first paper from the Ring of Fire project Ring of Fire led by Michelle Jackson out in Communications Biology, examining how warming alters biodiversity across 5 geothermal stream catchments around the Arctic Circle link.springer.com/article/10.103…
Very pleased to now be the Section Lead for Ecology & Evolution at Communications Biology. Please send any suggestions for relevant reviews, mini-reviews, perspectives, or comments my way. See the journal guidelines here: nature.com/commsbio/submi…
Very proud of my PhD student @polarpaddy after publishing one of his PhD chapters in Nature Communications. The paper examines temperature effects on predator-prey body mass relationships over 10° latitude in the Southern Ocean. Well done Paddy and all the team!
Happy to share our new publication =] "Untangling the complex food webs of tropical rainforest streams" Are these food webs stable despite the high dynamism of tropical ecosystems? Our results support a strong role of biodiversity and mobile predators! besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Super excited to have received The Leverhulme Trust funding with Stefano Mariani to explore how environmental DNA analysis can turbo-boost the reconstruction of aquatic food webs across habitat types and over multiple time scales. Watch this space for 2 x 3-year post doc opportunities.
Here we go! The first #webDNA #Postdoc is now open LJMU Biological & Environmental Sciences : jobs.ljmu.ac.uk/vacancy/postdo… LJMUResearchSupport The Leverhulme Trust EcoSAGE
Exciting 3-y postdoc opportunity University of Helsinki ‼️ I am seeking a postdoc with expertise in molecular and/or experimental food web ecology to study coastal food web responses to marine heatwaves ➡️Postdoc: jobs.helsinki.fi/job/Tv%C3%A4rm… Please share this post‼️
Super proud of Paddy Keith, my first PhD student to completion since joining University of Essex five years ago. Two great papers already (nature.com/articles/s4146…; frontiersin.org/journals/marin…), Defra UK lucky to have him for now, and a very promising career ahead. Congrats Paddy! 👏 👏
