3v3 is a hot topic at the moment, with some coaches embracing it, but others still not sold on the idea. For me, more touches, more involvement, and more technical outcomes can only be a good thing. It will take some getting used to, but it will benefit the players.

Lastly, against Inter Milan in the second-leg especially, Knutsen’s side showed their steel sitting in a more passive defensive block 4-4-2 dropping into a low block, quick to apply pressure in central areas and stayed strong despite Inter throwing a lot at them (30 shots!)

Are mini goals useful in build up excercises? We’re often told on coaching courses to split the build up into mini game - we all do 5v5/6v6 unit work But do stationary mini goals represent the dynamic nature of the game? Is it the best way to teach players how to separate?
