An adequately powered positive clinical trial will have a 95% CI with an upper border close to 1.0 if the investigated effect size is sufficiently pessimistic. A trial should not be overpowered. An effect that is greater than the premise is not a hallmark of a good trial.

Very interesting substudy of the EAST-AFNET 4 trial on the use of flecainide and propafenone in AF. Their use was safe even in patients with known CAD, heart failure and LV hypertrophy! Is class IC agents getting a second wind? We need RCTs to safely reintroduce them!
