Dear Channel 4 News The Y2K bug did not “turn out to be a phantom issue”. Hundreds of thousands of us worked our bloody socks off to make sure the world went on working. The fact that nothing went badly wrong took a decade of planning and effort. Sloppy bloody reporting

When we build bigger roads, we get more traffic. Congestion briefly gets better, then the same, then worse. £Billions is spent in the process. Instead of dualling roads, what if we used the space for active travel instead? Here’s a thread on why it should happen.🧵

"Sometimes, a shop owner claims his business was ruined because the city removed 4 parking spaces. With surveys, our mayor can say: ‘6,000 more people pass your shop a day thanks to a new bike lane. Are you sure you’re a good businessman?’” — Jan Gehl in #Straphanger #Copenhagen

Love this! "I guess I'm a cyclist" it kind of happened to me this way, it was just easier to do the short journeys. As I whizzed past the traffic today with my daughter, other nursery parents said their 5 min journey was taking 45 mins.

.EE someone has used my email address to sign up to your services. You didn't do any basic verification. Now I'm getting all their account emails. No email address included to contact you on, just a phone number and I've got other things to be doing. Poor show. #GDPRBasics

Why is rule 3 of the Highway Code so controversial? It's because every autumn hundreds of campaigns promote its message, but hardly a single one is devoted to its counterpart, rule 125: "Reduce your speed when driving at night as it is more difficult to see other road users" 🦺
