'Great to see 🇮🇪⁦Malcolm Noonan⁩ ⁦Eamon Ryan⁩ take the lead on this letter calling for #RestoreNature law to be passed. We must act urgently': Ten countries join Ireland to urge adoption of Nature Restoration Law thejournal.ie/eu-nature-rest…

New Chief Executive, same archaic and car centric ideals. Worrisome to read that the new executive’s MAIN priority is to push through a ring road that won’t solve the congestion, but instead dramatically increase emissions and destroy valuable natural habitats.

The situation in England echoes a key point I made in my Irish Times piece a couple of weeks ago: this is public money, taxpayers money, being used to provide school meals, it should not be allowed to be used to fund substandard food. Who are the main beneficiaries of this money?

we should be deeply concerned about this and need some solid policy moves on it. Access to land is one of the biggest risks to the future of farming. We associate land grabs with the global south (and that’s a huge issue) but it’s happening here too. Green grabs are a big concern

Imagine going from journalism to spouting such inflammatory lies. But at least we see true colours before vote. Farmers are the ones who will suffer most in Ireland if we don’t take urgent action on climate & biodiversity crisis. Hopefully most won’t be fooled by this rubbish

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get experience in the environmental advocacy and planning space. Closing date June 12th.

Gutting to hear over and over again the loss of trust of farmers in govt agri-envt schemes due to decisions in ACREs (including Burren) plus significant delays in payments incdg NPWS Farm Plan Scheme Pippa Hackett Charlie McConalogue Malcolm Noonan

"The Government should use our money to fund what works, then step out of the way". Well said Ella McSweeney. The Burren Programme is a world-class pioneering scheme that worked for farmers and for nature. Appallingly, the Government did away with it. irishtimes.com/environment/20…

Yup and they employ a global network of lobby groups + multistakeholder initiatives to stop governments from doing something about it. I hear the same mistruths trotted out repeatedly: "Wastewater is the problem..." "The EPA data isn't good enough..." "Water quality is stable... " Here is a handy mythbuster on where we actually are with water quality. Spoiler alert, intensive agri still is the main problem.
