Finished Tears of the Kingdom, put about 90 hours into it. A good game but didn't recapture the magic of BotW for me. New powers felt deceptively shallow, shrines weren't as challenging, followed BotW formula too closely, underground was dull. I miss curated Zelda games.

I'm very happy that 2D Mario has personality again after the milquetoast 'New Super Mario Bros' era.

Finished #FF16. Loved it. It has glaring flaws, terrible side quest design, pacing issues, paper deep gear and loot systems. Despite all that the core gameplay, presentation and story were all incredible. Beautiful game in a lot of ways.

Baldur's Gate 3 might be my ultimate comfort game. It not only takes me back 20 years to a formative gaming experience playing BG2, but to a cherished time when I had an active D&D group. Truly special.
