Place a tomato branch in water and roots will quickly emerge. One mutant did not grow roots in tap water, but could make them in de-ionized water. Hmm. Here is the story of this 100-year old mutation. (TLDR: It was the calcium) Thanks to Josรฉ M. Pรฉrez-Pรฉrez! academic.oup.com/pcp/advance-arโฆ

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend and colleague Prof. Eliezer Lifschitz. Eliezer was a geneticist and a researcher in the field of plant developmental biology and one of the founders of the Faculty of Biology at the Biology Technion. 1934-2022

Looking for EU or UK PIs that would be willing to discuss with the brilliant Meital Salmor about the process of securing academic position. She is organizing a workshop for foreign postdocs in Israel and your insights on doing this in ๐ฌ๐ง๐ช๐บ would be super helpful. Please RT.
