New day, new eruption. The fifth eruption at Sundhnúksgígar. Olgeir, Enikö and Alberto Caracciolo went out to collect tephra and quenched lava samples. It was a nice occasion to show off our new quenching suit and new bucket! 🌋

Whoah! A spectacular comeback of the low-K2O/TiO2 magmas at Sundhnúksgígar – last seen in March 2021 during early stages of the Fagradalsfjall eruption.
