I think that every time a major poet dies there should be a minor hurricane, like a swirl of words circling and screaming through the city of their passing.

Rewatching the Sanctuary series. I don't think it would just be my own ear that the new theme song they introduced in Season 3 samples very heavily from "Mad World" by Tears For Fears. You wonder if they ended up with a copy-rite suit. m.youtube.com/watch?v=4dI8_5…

The sky full of stars burned furiously in the water, broken up by belfries and cupolas and the slow planetary trails. Never have I experienced such a sense of peace. Time filled the heart like an hourglass. — Lawrence Durrell Lago d'Orta

Using my text editor to pull together related passages, a bit of editing, some 'killing my darlings', then putting it in sequence. I hated putting out my novella in progress. But there's no telling what may happen in the future. And you certainly can't post from the cemetery.

One thing I don't regret about my move to Phoenix 40 years ago was the music I saw there; chiefly, the early Philip Glass Ensemble at a venue of about 200 people, Glass himself conducting. fyi, 'Lightning' is apocalyptic. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiE0O0…

Archaeologists have discovered a 2,700 year-old Phrygian tomb in Turkey. No word yet on any ancient demons that were released -- but as always I think you can pretty much bet on it. 😊😉

While this inscription may be considered by some ignoble graffiti, it is of a familiar style reminiscent of so many actual Egyptian inscriptions in tombs. And it may be a metaphor also -- history is always written upon history. catchpenny.org/gpglyph.html

My second time for this one. Critics blasted it, which is why I pay no attention to critics. I found it to be an interesting expansion on Stevenson's original tale. And very nice in the little details.

I have to say how encouraged I have been lately by X members turning to art, beauty, poetry; and also to rejecting those things that, as Wittgenstein put it, do not get us any further. (If you know what I mean and I think you do.) Photo: Thorton Wilder
