The Ford government already eliminated rent control for buildings built after 2018. They are now taking steps to eliminate rent control in Ontario altogether. This is shameful and disgusting given the affordability crisis that so many people are facing.

BREAKING: After the release of an ad that caused Trump's tantrum ending trade talks with Canada, the original video of Ronald Reagan slamming tariffs has resurfaced. He called the new ad "fake." The original destroys Trump on tariffs. Share this widely.

If Trump hadn’t melted down over the ad, far fewer would have seen it. He made a beloved Republican president’s denunciation of tariffs a top story, nearly 40 years after the fact. Brilliant.

1. Reagan’s speech is real 2. It’s public domain 3. Americans pay the cost of the added 10% tariffs, not Canadians 4. Trump keeps lying because he thinks you’re all too stupid to fact check 5. The average family will pay an extra $4900 this year because his tariffs

I don’t really think the framers intended for a president to have the power to slap a tariff on products from a particular country because he didn’t like a TV commercial they ran about him, but I suppose it is presently up to the Supreme Ct to decide how far the Mad King can go.

"The first people to be evicted will likely be long-term renters who have remained in their units because they can’t afford to move to a new unit. In many cases, those renters will be seniors on fixed incomes."

Looking forward. We have now booked our accommodations and purchased our flights for 75 days in Portugal 2026 instead of our past habitual Florida. Florida’s Governor said in early 2025, while we were there spending, that they didn’t need Canadians, so we listened.
