Another X-class (X1.9) flare occurred in AR 14114 around midnight (in UT) to 20 June 2025. Again, no global eruptions were observed. Therefore no CME and thus no auroras from this event. I think we are done with this region, which will soon rotate past Earth strike zone.
C4.1 flare occurred from a new region in the NW at 19:54 UTC, associated with minor dimming and a coronal wave. The event produced a halo or partial-halo CME, with most of it directed westward. Earth-directed component is possible.
Two prominence eruptions were observed on the Sun's western limb - first from the SW limb, followed by another from the NW limb. Both produced nice CMEs.
3rd interstellar object discovered? Maybe. There's a lot of buzz right now in the Astro community. More observations should come in tonight to confirm if A11pI3Z is from beyond the solar system.
Filament eruption near the disk center around 11:10 UTC. Waiting on SOHO images to confirm whether a CME is associated. Also, a bright sun-diving comet spotted in LASCO C3 FOV.
Nice filament eruption in the northeast quadrant, accompanied by the formation of double flare ribbons. The associated CME appears to be directed northward.
This shows GOES X-ray flux in solar cycle 25 up to now (the last data point: 7-Jul-2025 21:49) in one-minute time resolution. The peak appears to have passed, but we will be experiencing many more X-class flares and associated major eruptions in coming years.
