75% of Australian teachers work over 41 hours a week. This is unsustainable. Anthony Albanese must fully fund public schools, to ensure they have enough teachers & specialist support staff to meet the needs of our children. #ForEveryChild #auspol

A child in kindergarten in 2013 (when the Gonski deal was signed) was promised they would be attending a fully funded public school by the time they reached Yr6. Their final year of school is next year & will never feel the impact of a fully funded school. Anthony Albanese’s legacy.

The best way to teach children how to be critical thinkers about social media (or any new information) is for schools to: 1. Make sure they know lots of core knowledge about science, history, language, etc so that false information is easier to challenge, and they possess robust

Vocab/writing tip from margaret mckeown: Don’t ask kids to write a sentence with a new vocabulary word - they can fake it! E.g., does “I feel cozy” show understanding? Instead try having them complete a sentence stem: “My cat looks cozy when…” which requires more thinking!

87.1% of New South Wales teachers say they don’t have adequate resources to meet the needs of students with disability. Anthony Albanese must fully fund public schools, to ensure every child is supported to succeed. #ForEveryChild #auspol

Sorry but one teacher cannot differentiate every lesson for 27 different kids whose reading level ranges from 1st to 11th and account for 6 different IEPS The inclusion/no-tracking push is simply unworkable

Really privileged to be featured in the latest Teach NSW Teacher Spotlight. Being a NSW public school teacher is the best job. You get to make a difference, no two days are the same and you are surrounded by the best people. education.nsw.gov.au/teach-nsw/news…

In a stressful world, sometimes parents, students, or colleagues say hurtful things (whether intentional or not), useful to remember you are doing your best and not to take it personally.

Character limits on reports (and in general life) are the bane of my existence. Whether this is surprising or not is debatable.
