I’m currently seeing a significant and I mean SIGNIFICANT increase in children presenting with social communication needs in EYFS. Most have 0 involvement from services & require SENCO referral. Where’s the tribe to support families in early intervention? PS, long time no see!

When we have CAMHS services quoting 4-5 years to access support we should be outraged. Families should not have to pay out ££ they cannot afford in desperation, missing rent and going without food to pay privately. The rage is simmering inside me…watch me because I’m done

Is there a reason why this past week schools are suddenly getting a squillion consultations to admit pupils with EHCP’s? How would they like school staff to respond appropriately when there is 3 minutes left of the school year and and the brain capacity to think of a blancmange?

When you’ve worked with vulnerable children as long as I have, evidence screams risk follows them into adulthood if there isn’t a long term plan of support. Reading of the 3rd death in 8 weeks of those now adult ex pupils in separate circumstances shows a tragic system failure

Here’s a radical idea, if schools were funded for SEND appropriately, then EHCP’s wouldn’t need to exist.
