As we celebrate the success of this event, let us remember that art and wellness can play a transformative role in the lives of individuals facing adversity.

This attitude lies at the core of Christianity but also powerfully evident in the great faiths of the world - materialism, rampant individualism, ultra nationalism and loss of the sense of community responsibility have surely diminished us all

Devastating news for music students & staff at Goldsmiths Music Department. The planned redundancies will leave huge gaps in provision & swift decline is the inevitable outcome. The whole funding system is broken but this cannot be the answer. Sign the petition: change.org/p/protect-musi…

We have to stress the essentially wordless nature of the work we are doing with children from many different cultures . We have also to emphasise that these art work provides the first steps towards a conversation about how we move thwarts a good life for all. Jonathan M Barnes

My ITV analysis on the Grenfell report, a tragedy ultimately about power - about who has it and who doesn’t. In the sixth richest country in the world, in its capital city dripping with wealth, 72 people died because people with power didn’t do enough to stop it happening.

If you firmly believe that only behaviourism is the answer then you end up stuck when children refuse to get with the programme. If you consider that behaviour can also communicate needs then you tend to look more flexibly for the answers. #EYFS has taught me this. 😊
