Emma Pattison. Remember her and Lettie's names.

Like Sara Everard's, Nicole Smallman's, Bibaa Henry's and countless others before.

I went to Epsom College.

I had a lot to learn then. And as men we all still do.

The police need better and more accurate comms on domestic homicide. As usual, the murder of Emma Pattison and her daughter was described as an 'isolated incident'. A woman is murdered every 3 days by a male partner or ex. Seems pretty systemic to me.

'... it doesn't matter how successful or accomplished or brilliant you are as a woman, you are only as safe as your male partner allows you to be...'

Cheryl Giavannoni CEO of Girls Day School Trust on BBC News at Six on the death of Emma Pattison and her daughter.

Says it all.

Every woman I spoke to yesterday knew this would be the reason Emma and Lettie Pattison are gone.

Police call it an ‘isolated incident’. But every 3 days in the UK, a woman is murdered by her partner or ex-partner. In this context, is far from ‘isolated’. It is devastating.

I've seen comments about the , and The Times and The Sunday Times printed some views that it would be 'surprising' if it was murder because the family is 'educated'.
Just a reminder that being educated, well-off, or successful doesn't provide immunity from domestic violence.

Despite what the police have said, the killing of a woman and her child by a man are not isolated incidents. Three women are killed each week by men. Why isn’t male violence against women a national emergency?

American people are calling me fat on the internet. Which is whatever but I really do feel like it’s a time warp here in terms of cultural societal expectations of femininity. I’ve struggled with disordered eating my whole life and I cba to feel shite anymore about a body that is

Mocking an adult man who was allegedly physically assaulted by his adult brother is toxic masculinity. This is not the time for “boys will be boys”, “brothers will fight”, “it was a minor squabble”. They are not children, they are powerful men.

A woman is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK. Giving a huge platform to a man to fantasise about violence against a woman he wants to “parade naked through the streets” dangerously legitimises the violent thoughts of men all over the country.

Brilliant conversation with @drpragyaagarwal exploring and exploding the myth of gendered emotions. Our brains are the same; there are no ‘female’ or ‘male’ emotions: just social and cultural conditioning. Please share &

It was such a privilege to have this conversation with Ramita Navai who is telling the stories oppressive régimes don't want us to hear, and doing so with such grace and wisdom. Listen now ❤
