Appreciate that there's not a lot of people left on this platform but is there anyone out there who's a bit of an expert on the history of pub names?

British Steel, losing £700k a day, employs 2,700 people. Gov jumping in to save the day and land the tax payer with the cost of employing 2,700 people at £700k a day, bailing out the overseas owner. UK hospitality employs over 1m, and Gov is willfully taxing it into extinction.

Wonderful news for pubs and really demonstrates that the government has really got its finger on the pulse of the challenges the sector is facing. An extra two hours open, when all your customers go home at nine is great. Think of all the extra staffing costs as well! Lovely!

I hope everyone is looking forward to their extra two hours of trading tonight, kindly gifted by our supportive Government. It'll make all the difference. #cough

We are down to the bare bones. Not sure what else we can do, we are cutting cutting cutting, just to try and still be open. Costs are now actually impossible to cover. Add that people’s disposable income is non existent, it’s the perfect storm. & govt have intentionally caused it

I'm looking for pubs that do a good job supporting local grass roots rugby to come onto the MA's podcast. Any victims... I mean volunteers out there?

I'm looking for pubs that actively embrace and encourage pub crawls - next episode of the podcast will be looking at this one. Any willing volunteers?
