Happy to support on Wednesday's as education support workers are holding info pickets in front of their schools from 7:30 to 8 am. Today, they learned that NON UNION employees of the Edmonton Public School Board are getting 3% increase a luxury they aren't even close to getting

Workers' rights yet again are getting torn up and workers are going to suffer. The race to the bottom is happening in front of our eyes and politicians are allowing it to happen. These actions by governments are not an exception it's the rule and workers need to push back!

While we work tirelessly for a world that doesn't need food banks, the EDLC is always in our community helping out. Last night, the Mâmawâyâwin Committee (formerly Community Connections) led a team to support those in need and help create comradery during this difficult time.

We are happy to report that Nurse Next Door has taken decisive action to end this practice and make a public apology. Education Support staff must be paid fairly for the work they do. If the province agrees they can return to work providing the support our students need.

In our darkest (or coldest) hour we must stand as one! Education Support Workers are fighting day in and day our for good jobs and the best education for our children. Find the picket line near you, bundle up and show up for an hour to let them know they have our support!

A huge shout out to the grade 1 students at Brander Gardens School who sold lollipops for $1 to support the picket pantry. With a lot of work they were able to raise $860 to help support their beloved Education Support Workers! Well done, Brander Gardens. The kids are alright..
