The capture rate of solar in Spain ⬇️⬇️ Where there is now nearly 35GW of solar live. A strong signal for required flexibility, from storage or elsewhere and a leading signal for transitions across Europe.

What is the story of battery growth, and how do they now support power markets? The transition starts slowly and then moves very quickly.

The reason this is such a big jump is that you need to get approved planning to get protection under grid connection reform, so everyone has brought projects forward. Still huge progress, but don’t be surprised when it comes way down.

What progress has been made to date on replacing gas generation with renewable energy? Through most of the year, renewables are saving 4-6 GW of gas gen vs 2016. That’s around £6-8bn per year on running costs.
