The Right is coming for legal immigration next—and Democrats have no plan to fight back. Immigrant communities can’t be left defenseless. The stakes are too high. We need courage and a long-term strategy to resist these attacks.

Firing people, especially comedians, for airing their opinions is meant to scare everyday people from speaking out. It’s a page from the authoritarian playbook, and it’s a scare tactic we must resist.

I fled persecution for speaking my truth. Now in America, I fight so freedom of speech isn’t silenced here too. Our voices matter. Speak up. Be louder.

C’est la vie. At 6:47 p.m., I arrived at the poll site and a young man with a press badge said, “Oh, you’re Edafe?” Then asked, “Can I take your portrait?” “I’ll make sure you get a pic on your Wikipedia page tonight,” he said. What a way to close this chapter.

The new administration is ready to lead. Now we must come together to support both the transition and governance—proving that progressive leadership delivers.

Jim, when I met you, I had so much respect for you and the fact that you were running on a platform of integrity. But recently, you have been pulled into the low of lows, and it’s distasteful. If you don’t have something meaningful to say, say nothing.

This year has been heavy for so many families across our city. As we close it out, I’m holding the New York we all love close to my chest. Our city can be better, fairer, and more welcoming. In 2026, we keep fighting for all of us and especially for our immigrant communities.
