We're excited to release the Collaboration for Inclusive Development Research (CIDR) Survey with Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa. The survey probes African scholars’ inclusion in research.

Take the survey if you work in, fund, study, or conduct development-related research.

My favorite conference - and it keeps getting better. Keep an eye out for it next year if you work in African development. It’s generally funded if your paper is selected for discussion!

Let's work to make economics a more welcoming and inclusive place. EJMR does not reflect that and we should hold the toxic folks accountable. I signed the petition - please consider doing so yourself!

This thread is for young ‘uns from poor countries who want to do development economics. We got a paper out that we wrote about South Africa, where a couple of the authors are from. Many people tell you writing about your home country is a bad idea

Quick tip:

Watch out for stacked headings in your : two or more headings stacked one on top of the other without any intervening text. They look like this:

I agree although job market candidates for jobs at smaller schools would be wise to remember that we are interested in hiring you because there is potentially nobody in your field in the audience

Tl;dr tailor your talk to the audience
