Roadkill is a major threat to echidnas across Australia - leading to their endangerment in Kangaroo Island. Be careful on the roads, and if you hit an echidna by accident (we get it, accidents happen!), please check around for any young and contact your local wildlife rescue!

The best place for citizen science is wherever YOU are! "The (EchidnaCSI) project is building a detailed distribution map of echidnas around Australia. This provides vital baseline data to assess impacts of events like bushfires." 🔎👩🏽‍🔬 ecos.csiro.au/discover-biodi…

#CitizenScience is hugely increasing baseline monitoring data in #bushfirerecovery! The #CitSciOz21 symposium included projects identifying plants; reporting wildlife assistance; submitting enviro recovery photos; identifying Glossy black cockatoos; & echidnas microbiome changes!

Big thank you to every one of you that have supported EchidnaCSI these past 4 years - whether that be from submitting data, collecting echidna poop or sharing the project with your friends, family and colleagues. Here's to the future & making real change in #echidna conservation!
