27 years old today. Aging is weird, and I think it’ll keep getting weirder. But, through thick and thin, I’m glad to be where, when, and how I am now.

Been doing some experiments on my WIP graphic novel, in hopes of bringing a bit more flavor to the pages. I’m loving the way the old halftone/Ben Day dot shading/coloring looks, and the vintage paper and distressing effects really seal the grungy, 1960s look.

By the end of the month, I’m planning to have a limited run of an ashcan style preview of my upcoming graphic novel printed up. For my Oklahoma based followers, they’ll be available for purchase at New World Comic Con this upcoming month!

I just sent my ashcan pages into Mixam for printing. We’re doing an initial run of 100 copies, which will be sold at local cons / stores, and possibly online sometime in the future. It’s crazy just getting to this point. There’s much more work to be done, but this is a huge step.

I’ve never been so happy to do something as meticulous as bagging and boarding comic books. Doing it for my own creation is so surreal and humbling. So grateful the book’s made it this far. Can’t wait to keep working on it!

A little gift for myself, celebrating the launch of first book, The Blood Priestess! Swamp Thing was my first serious introduction into how great comics could be. Having his first appearance here in my hands is like a dream come true.

My friend E. Blaze Stark is so good at gifts. Not only did he send me his debut comic chapters BUT he also got me a comic signed by Phillip Hester and Ande Parks!!

Working on my coloring chops. Given an upcoming variant cover of my comic is based on The Eternals, I worked on some upscaled production art for Eternals #1. I like how it turned out, but I’ve still got plenty to learn!
