Complete polar opposite in performance from last week. No tempo, no urgency and no quality in the final third today. Our home form is going to be crucial.

When we last got promoted to the Premier League in 2007 we won 1-0 against Spurs then went on to lose 3-0 at Wigan. Perspective is needed.

Correct this by the way. As Sunderland fans one thing for sure, we are all delighted when we win and disappointed when we lose. No one should or can tell you how to support your own football club.

I can remember being at Bristol Rovers away in 2020. Last game before lockdown. That was so much worse than today. Got no apology for that. Bad performances happen.

What on earth has happened to Rusyn, Ba, Pembele, Browne, Aleksic and Hemir? Not featuring at all for the U21s. Hardly giving them the best opportunities to pick up clubs. Literally all of them have disappeared off the face of the earth.

The formation change has made a huge difference. Mukiele missed an absolute sitter and Guiu should have scored. Just need to get the final ball right but much better.

Roefs Patterson Hume Mukiele Ballard Alderete O9 Cirkin Masuaku Reinaldo Sadiki Diarra Xhaka Le Fee Rigg Talbi Adingra Mundle Mayenda Isidor Guiu Rest of them are no where near good enough for PL level.

Sunderland exiting a cup competition early is just standard practice. Give us all our focus to the league campaign until January.
