BBC: lots of vegetables will not reduce your risk of a heart attack/stroke. What we eat, exercise, where and how we live may impact more. Balanced diet helps reduce risk of many diseases/some cancers. Eating 5+ portions of fruit/vegetables daily is recommended by the NHS.
