We took a day off chasing to visit West Texas Mesonet and Texas Tech University National Wind Institute. The tour was led by #SPOTTR and Purdue EAPS alum Matthew Asel! Thanks to him, Natalie Trout & Eric Bruning for the informative tour on short notice! We saw Sticknets, radars, debris cannon & more!

A belated thanks to Sean Waugh for demonstrating the NSSL mobile mesonet vehicle for our students in Texas on Thursday! You are an inspiration!

Purdue EAPS SPOTTR Trip 2024! Here’s some of my favorite pictures. We visited 8 states in 7 days and saw 5 high-based funnels, huge hail, and sat directly under a mesocyclone! Got some amazing structure pictures and visited Texas Tech, the TWISTEX memorial, and the Twister museum!

Thank you ☈aychel Nelson📡🌪⛈, Kolton Popp (former #SPOTTR student!), and @ksquared812 for serving on our virtual career panel! It was great to have a panel composed completely of Purdue EAPS alumni!

Another year of #SPOTTR is in the books! Thank you, Purdue EAPS, for supporting this experience for 12 participants!

"I realized it was very likely the #tornado was killing people while I was collecting data," says Prof. Robin Tanamachi, of Purdue EAPS. BBC reports on tornadoes formation remaining one of nature's biggest mysteries. #weather @tornatrix Purdue Science bbc.in/4dlnmcH
